Pocahontas County Schools Provides Meals to Children During the Summer

The Pocahontas County Schools District announces their sponsorship of the federally funded Summer Food Service Program.

Breakfast and Lunch are open to all children, ages 18 years and under, who would like to participate. 

Meals will be served at the following sites:

Pocahontas County High School

271 Warrior Way

Dunmore WV 24934

Breakfast will be provided from 8:30am to 9:00am at PCHS and Lunch will start at 11:30 until 12:15pm this program will start on June 3rd and ends on June 27th, Monday-Thursday (Week of June 17th-Wednesday-Friday). This program will be closed on June 20th for West Virginia Day.

Marlinton Elementary School

Breakfast will be provided from 8:00am to 8:30am at MES and lunch 11:30 am to 12:00pm, this program will start on June 17th and runs until July 25th. (Monday-Friday) We will not be open on Wednesday June 19 in observance of Juneteenth, Thursday June 20th in observance of West Virginia Day and Thursday July 4th for Independence Day.

A nutritious meal is important for children to learn, play and remain active during the summer months. Remember, Hunger Doesn’t Take a Summer Vacation!
