Pocahontas County Schools is closed due to winter weather and snow predictions for Friday, January 3, 2025. Stay safe!

All Pocahontas County Schools will operate on a three-hour delay on Friday, January 3, 2025. We will continue to monitor weather conditions.

❄️Update for Parents and Students ❄️
Our district has one snow day left before snow packets start. Snow packets ensure that students can continue meaningful learning on snow days or emergency closures while preserving our summer break. We are permitted to use 5 non-traditional learning days (snow packet days) before we have to make up days at the end of the school year. ❄️📚
If you have questions about snow packets, please contact your child's school for more information.
Let's keep learning, no matter the weather! 🌟

Due to current and forecasted weather, all Pocahontas County Schools will operate on a 3-hour delay on Thursday, January 2, 2025. We feel it is important for our drivers to start their routes in daylight when the weather conditions are questionable.

Wishing all our families and staff a healthy, safe, and wonderful holiday break!

Hillsboro Elementary presented perfect attendance awards today (PreK will get theirs after the break). Starting in December, we had a competition for attendance. Every day the students were in school, their class received a piece of popcorn. The class with the most popcorn at the end of the month received a bag of popcorn for a snack. First grade blew it out of the water, not only did they win but their entire class was present every day in December. They may be small in numbers but they show up ready to learn. Second and fourth grades tied for 2nd place. Let's see which class is popping up in January.

The staff at Hillsboro Elementary School would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Friday, December 20th students will be released three hours early. We will see you back at school on January 2nd.
